Dear Next helps families organize important information in one place. We take your privacy seriously and aim to explain our practices clearly. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, what responsibilities you have, and the limits of what Dear Next is — and is not — designed to do.

Who we are

Dear Next is built and operated by Anchored Arrows LLC. You may contact us using the information in the “Contact us” section below.

Important: What Dear Next is (and is not)

Dear Next is a private organizer and index. It is not a file-storage service, document vault, medical record system, or financial account repository. Dear Next does not host uploaded files (e.g., PDFs, scans, IDs, medical documents). You control what information you enter or link.

Anchored Arrows LLC is not a HIPAA-covered entity and Dear Next is not intended for storing protected health information (“PHI”). You should never use Dear Next to upload, store, collect, or process PHI or other regulated data.

What you store is your choice — and your responsibility

You decide what to include in your Dear Next workspace. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you add, type, or link is appropriate. To protect your privacy and security, you agree not to store:

  • Full Social Security numbers
  • Full bank, credit card, or financial account numbers
  • Driver’s license or passport numbers
  • Medical records, medical images, lab results, or PHI
  • Tax returns or highly sensitive legal/identity documents

If you choose to enter general medical or personal notes (e.g., “Mom had knee surgery in 2021”), you do so voluntarily and understand this is not PHI management and Dear Next has no obligation to store, process, or treat such information as medical data.

External links you choose to add

Dear Next allows you to save links (URLs) to files or folders stored in third-party services such as OneDrive, Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox, or others. These linked files are not hosted, stored, transmitted, or controlled by Dear Next.

You are solely responsible for the access permissions of any external file or folder you link. Anchored Arrows LLC cannot modify or restrict access to those files, does not monitor them, and is not responsible for their security, accuracy, availability, or confidentiality.

If you choose to share external files or folders with someone (outside of Dear Next), any access they have is governed entirely by the settings of the third-party storage provider, not by Dear Next.

Information we collect

  • Account Info: Email and password (or OAuth identity) to sign in.
  • Content You Add: Notes, descriptions, and links you voluntarily enter.
  • Technical Data: Basic device, browser, and performance data provided by our hosting platform for reliability and security.

How we use information

  • To provide the service: Let you sign in, add content, organize information, and export summaries.
  • To secure and improve: Monitor reliability, detect abuse, and improve features.
  • To communicate: Send essential account emails (e.g., login, onboarding, policy updates). You can opt out of optional messages.

How your data is stored

Dear Next uses reputable cloud infrastructure (such as Firebase/Google Cloud) for authentication and data storage. Data is transmitted via HTTPS and stored using the provider’s security controls. While no system is perfectly secure, Dear Next follows industry-standard practices and reviews them periodically.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with trusted service providers only to operate Dear Next (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery). These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for their own purposes. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect users or the service.

Continuity Contacts

Dear Next allows you to list Continuity Contacts for notification purposes. Continuity Contacts are notification-only and do not receive access to your account or playbook.

You are responsible for selecting Continuity Contacts you trust and for maintaining your own continuity plan (for example, exporting a copy of your playbook and keeping it somewhere your family can find).

Anchored Arrows LLC is not responsible for how a Continuity Contact uses, stores, or shares any information they receive outside of Dear Next.

Cookies & analytics

Dear Next may use strictly necessary cookies to operate the site. If analytics are enabled, we will use minimal, privacy-respecting configurations and provide notice.

Your choices & controls

  • Access & Edit: You can view and update your content at any time.
  • Export: You can export your Dear Next content (e.g., the Letter Edition PDF).
  • Delete: You can delete content or request account deletion.
  • Opt-out: You can unsubscribe from optional emails.

Children’s privacy

Dear Next is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

International use

If you access Dear Next from outside the United States, you understand your data may be processed in the U.S. and in other countries where our service providers operate.

Limits of responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and content of the information you enter or link. Anchored Arrows LLC is not responsible for loss, misuse, or disclosure of any external content you link, nor for any sensitive data you choose to store against our recommendations.

Dear Next is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Anchored Arrows LLC disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or from content you enter or link.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. We will post updates with the revised date. If changes are significant, we may provide additional notice.
